I have been designing and installing gardens and outdoor spaces for almost 20 years now but even still, I continue to develop my own style and hone my design skills. I owe much to my mentors who have guided me through this journey, mainly the talented professors I met during my graduate training at George Washington University’s School of Landscape Design. It is here where I studied plant design, site analysis, site engineering, the history of landscape design, construction methods and materials, sustainable landscaping and botany.

My experience lies in mainly residential garden design with an emphasis on creating outdoor ‘rooms’ that include water features, fire pits, patios, lighting, containers and container gardens. Attention to detail makes the difference between a good garden and a great garden so I take great pride in considering colors and light, balance, symmetry and how to maximize the beauty of a garden with the changing of the seasons.
Last, but not least, I always consider your garden from the inside out. Your vista is so important when looking out a window or door. By melding the inside of your home with the outside, blurring the lines between the two creates a cohesive space throughout. Seamless living areas create a sense of calm and tranquility. Your garden should be an extension of your home.
I believe that . . .
Good design matters.
The quality of our environment affects our health and spirit.
Gardens are points of connection, grounding, and continuity.
Well loved spaces amplify living.
